Amazing work, the poly count doesn't even look to bad. The engine looks as to have ton of polys then again by the time this game ever comes out that amount of polys would be considered normal.  :P

MF_FLED

Engine has less than 100k, but in track 50% of all polys are hidden
Cars ~65-80k

The rusty station wagon looks amazing, it gets my mind going thinking about how awesome that would be in game.

Vaelor

Man, those are fucking awesome. Thank you SO much for your contributions to the project!!

Is there any chance to break up the cars/pics with spoiler tags so they are easier to load and view?

This.

Also: These models might actually be too much for whatever engine we eventually use, or else too much for lower-end computers...Perhaps a few lower-poly models are in order? Perhaps ~5k pollies/model?

Really?? 5k polys is a LONG cry from the 80-100k polys that the above models are. I'm no artist or designer, but I liked what this guy has shown us, and if they're 100k, then 5k would seem to me to be chunky low-res blocky graphics. Or is that not how these things work?

I want the game to look its best. I don't have any sympathy for people using old derelict hardware in this day and age. Any gamer who is serious about any game today has a decent PC and knows how to use it. I'm not interested in forfeiting quality for compatibility.

Side note, MF_FLED and I have been in touch, and he's agreed to join the team as our first official 3D modeler/designer. So welcome aboard buddy! =)
