So it looks like SR3 will never happen.
I have checked out some video for "Car mechanic simulator 2018"

The engine rebuilds are better than anything I have ever seen. And you can goto a junk yard and choise your own ride.

The best the "street rod" community could hope for is if they incorporated some of our classic... And maybe a tip of the hat...

Oooooh. I'll definitely add it to the list.

I was able to watch this via Kodi TV with the exodus plug in.
It was released in 2009,  features Eric Bana,  interviews with Jeremy Clarkson and Dr Phil.

Very surprised I had not heard of it before.  It was not very popular as I could not find it o  torrents and the one link I got took a month to download but got stuck at 78.2%   :(

He has the car from 15 years old and despite earning millions of dollars he keeps and rebuilds it.  He really does "love the beast".  He rebuilds the car and keeps it road legal with no expenses spared.

After the cars "racing history"  and a two year  rebuild in 2014 it now sits in his garage and he uses it for Sunday drives.

You guys should store such data on the cloud now...

UNITY : Car modified simulator 2016 looks good.  My phone is too slow to play it though

Need for speed Pro street was epic in 2005, I always chose the Chev monara(Chev lumina in my country) .  I tuned down the kw and increased the torque and was unbeaten in my neighborhood.

Was great for tuning.

In the Android game Drag racing.  You can TUNE each gear ratio, the final drive.  Adjust the nitrous duration...

So via Google play Store there are loads of games.  Probably to many for one person to find.

The game " Drag Racing"  by creative mobile is excellent.
All out drag racing game.  By the cars stock and modify to the max.  If this game had a garage interface and allowed you to upgrade engines ( inline 4/6, v6 v8 big block v8)  it would be perfect.  It allows modification like

Different stages of reproduction various different turbo size upgrades manual and electronic boost controllers forged pistons and rods upgraded cooling systems race wires spark plugs raceways different spark plugs different types of valves racing port and polish of cylinder head upgraded fuel pump upgrade fuel pumps if you upgrade a lighter flywheels button clutch intercooler upgrades bigger piping Performance air filters sports exhaust cold air intakes subtle bodies nitrous bottles different sizes nitrous warmers cold shot wet shot direct port nitrous injection race cams blow valves etc.

I have clocked this game many times but every now and then I fire it back up.

Need for speed underground I also spent loads of time on that game.

Not sure what baffles are I think we call them moth balls.
On that topic.  What about fueling a d fuel additives?  Toulene, xylene, racing fuel,  avgas, methanol etc...

Also any chance we can warm up the tyres/ do a burnout to warm up the tyres.....

Sorry for reviving a old post but this was not mentioned ...There was nothing mentioned in the post about this Real life issue that can happen with drag cars.

So if you are running low on fuel but you you choose to race. Your car can start Spluttering, Pinging, Hesitation,Backing fire from low fuel pressure fuel starvation, car starts running lean etc... (This Normally eats up spark plugs)

So if you decide to Race with a low tank of gas your car in theory is lighter but if the stretch of road is too long you do so at your own peril

Will we be allowed Wheelie Bars so our High HP Cars dont flip?  ;D ;D ;D

Will we be allowed to Adjust our Tire Pressure?
Shorter distance's focus more on traction. where longer stretches you want a higher Tyre pressure...
and Bigger wheels add more momentum /increase rolling ratio's so cars can reach higher speeds...

Thats why DRAG cars have small wheels but LARGE tyres/slicks/mickey thompsons as everything is about traction NOT about top end /exit speeds

Maybe? Sr3 was definetley planned to have, junkyard, dealerships, speed shops, catalogs and the newspaper. i maybe missing a few more. One that was never defintley was weather you'd be able to explore the city due the large amount work needed and huge lack of information of the cities at that time period as it was planned to be as historically correct as possible. So i always assumed this one was a maybe.

I really like the idea of Scratching for Parts in the JUNKYARD. The Thrill of finding Unique parts or great deals would be awesome!!! THUS my suggestion is......

In the NEWSPAPER, under parts you can say... MUSTANG FASTBACK breaking for spares. In real life the car would probably have severe accident body damage, but many components still be 100% functional or damage. You would not be able to buy the complete wreck as the breakers make more money selling it piece by piece and each week there could be less and less of the car renaming. and these breakers are not really concerned about performance parts they are not  ENTHUSIASTS there are they to make money so they will sell you a GM 5 Speed racing box for the price of a GM 4 speed box. The WRECK could have been stock or it could be highly modified, by you VIEWING the car you can identify if its a performance part or not,  you could look at what parts left and make offers and when you get back to the workshop you can see the parts true identity and the condition (60% Worn) etc...

Is this still going to be a option to send a item to be reconditioned?
If the game is set in 1970 you could get a NEW 1970 Mustang gearbox, how ever for lets say a 1932 Ford T Bucket you would not be able to get a NEW Gearbox, only a second hand or Reconditioned UNIT.
Surely NEW cars or cars that are upto 5 years old can be purchased threw the Dealership. Were the older will be found in the Newspaper and you would interact directly with the owner(can also negatate priced with them)

SPEEDSHOPS will probably only sell NEW items and maybe there can be a old timer advising you on performance upgrades and trying to sell you more items....

I think these two will be great for the game,  they are period relivant and came out with the same engines and drive trains as the original game.  From a engineering standpoint the work will be already done and accurate.  Now you can can run the same setups in a lighter chassis.

The South African fairmont GT was built from 1970 to 1973. The 1970 model is a CKD version of the Australian XW Falcon GT and the 1971 to 1973 model is a CKD version of the Australian XY Falcon GT. The 1970 model featured a 2v 351 cleveland engine and the 1971 to 1973 mocel used a 4v 351 cleveland engine. The most apparant difference between the two different models are the shaker scoop on the 1971 to 1973 version and differences in the grill.

The car was based on the Mk1 Ford Capri 3000 XL. It was powered by an up-rated Ford Mustang 5 litre V8 (Windsor Small Block Ford) engine. Power was fed through a four speed close ratio Mustang 'top loader' gearbox to a custom limited slip rear axle derived from the Australian Ford Falcon XW rear end. Automatic transmission was an option where the Ford C4 automatic was used.

These are not American, they are South African special edition however they are very applicable to the game and fit the time line perfectly.
