I think Kickstarter would be a great idea for this game. As long as you don't try to purposely deceive people, they'll have patience. All of the backlash you see is because dev's promise the game to be ready on XX date and 3 months later there's no word for them. I would definitely contribute to a kickstarter fund. Street Rod 1&2 are awesome games and I'm sure 3 would be great aswell. I know nothing about programming or visual effects but I've been looking forward to this game for years. I check back every few months to see if there's been any progress.

I own all of the games for-mentioned (SRI/SRII/American Street Drag/Gearhead Garage) and I'm dying for another similar game.

you'll be happy to hear SR3 is pretty much all the games you mentioned rolled in to one.

"Every couple of months"? AFAIK, things change a little more often than that.

The screenshots above are interesting, to say the least.  I don't have those models yet.  There seems to be a certain amount of SR3 stuff on the internet that doesn't come with the old Beta download, or anything else readily available.
