A new user approached me in the chat room today, and asked me how and where he could donate to the SR3 project. This is a very good question, as since we switched to a whole new development and administrative team, nobody has offered to donate until now. I know there used to be a donate button on the old Sourceforge page of the now obsolete alpha version of the game, but god only knows whose account that goes to, I can only assume one of the previous admins who are no longer involved with the project. Don't use that. =)

Anyways, to the point: If you're interesting in donating financially to the Street Rod 3 project - and of course, who wouldn't be? ;) - for the time being please make your PayPal donations to . This is, for the time being, THE ONLY way to ensure that the money will be received by the current administration and spent on development of the game and project. When megariffer finally reappears in chat, we will discuss the possibility of putting a user-friendly "Donate Now!" button on the site, but this will just be for convenience - it will still be a PayPal payment to the aforementioned address, just in friendly one-click format. =)

In the foreseeable future we will probably introduce some rewards for cash donators, maybe things like SR3 t-shirts, bumper stickers, fridge magnets, or for serious donations, perhaps even your name put somewhere in the game or something cool like that. As the new release of SR3 comes along, I will think about this some more and discuss it with the team, maybe they have some other good ideas to encourage and reward donations to the project!

Thanks for listening, chiiiiiildren! =D

Thanks megariffer, it must have been hiding in my.. umm.. blind spot. =) But it's all good now, and yeah, I wanted it to be one vote per user as well, so thanks. But I ask again, where have you been?? I've been waiting for you in chat for over a week now, what's going on man??

I still don't believe in porting to console, unless we can commercially sell the game for $100 a copy in stores, we'd never even remotely make it worth our while. Mac and/or Linux are most likely our viable options, I think? It would be interesting to see it on an Android device. I can't quite picture how it could work there but it sounds like a cool idea. =)

I agree, I took at look at the info on the website and it looks like a bit of fun. I wonder if will pick it up and sell it cheap. I'd buy it.

Hey all,

I was hoping to put a poll up here, but either this forum software doesn't support polls, or I'm too stupid to work out how to make one. Either way, I guess you will have to give your opinions in standard reply format. =)

There have been quite a few questions and suggestions lately as to what the cross-OS compatibility of SR3 will be. Obviously the game is primarily being designed for PC/Windows, but depending on which engine we go with, may or may not be able to be cross-platformed to other systems. What I wonder is, what do you, both developers and fans, really want to see?

Please pick ONE (or more if you must) from this list.

"I want to see SR3 developed for Windows and additionally:-"
  • Mac/iOS
  • Linux/Unix
  • XBox360
  • PS3
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Android
  • DOS =)
  • Other..?
Please explain which is most important to you and why.

My personal answer would be Mac, followed by Linux. I have no interest in releasing SR3 for console systems unless it's practically free and almost effortless to do so. PC games should stay PC games. But that's just one opinion. =)

What's yours?

I concur with megariffer. Buy It/See It/Forget It is the way to go, newspaper style. Without the old black and white classified ads, you totally lose the feel of the Street Rod series. =(

I like Dano's idea. A good realistic hack'n'slash with no magic, dragons, or anything you wouldn't find in, say, Earth's medieval history. Bring on the swords, axes, longbows, polearms, whatever you like, but keep it real. And if you want to play a one armed thief with a wooden leg, so be it!

I bought an '89 Honda Civic. Yeah, seriously.

Don't stress darling Dano, the only administrators or moderators on the new forum are me and my webmaster, megariffer. I'd never ban you, and he has better things to do than moderate the forums. =)

Although, as I've always said and always will, I'd prefer you keep the really real you over on the Social Deviancy Forum where the lunacy and smut and off-topic garbage can be kept where it belongs. I want to keep the new SR3 forums pretty tidy and on-topic. =)

Wow, welcome back TSJ! I see I just missed you in the chat room. Probably because you only stayed for 30 seconds. =) You'll have to be a little more patient if you want somebody to respond to you before you quit. =)

We're starting everything from scratch. The old code is solely being used as advertising material now, to give potential coders and devteam members an idea of what we're all about. It won't be in any way part of the new game though.

Yeah Dano it's me. I got a promotion. Hellmark stepped down due to too many life priorities, and put me in charge. Good to see you back, man. =)

I've just been playing a little bit of Street Rod 1 & 2, courtesy of the DOSbox pack that megariffer uploaded to the Downloads section of the site the other day. I must say, it really got me in the mood for some Street Rod 3!! I'm terrible at racing games (I can't even finish Mulholland Drive or The Aqueduct in SR2!!) but I love building and tinkering and retuning the cars... I could play drag races all day at $50 a pop and eventually set up the second best car in the game, but The King is not interested in drag racing, he wants a real race for his pink slips, and I haven't got the skills!! =(

I'm wondering folks, what are you most looking forward to in Street Rod 3? The 21st century graphics? The traditional look and feel of the original games? The extra cars available? Or something else entirely? Post here and let me know! =)
