I'm pretty positive modern games have some sort advanced engine/program that actively modifies the vertices spacing on the rim and tire 3D models and then sets and some how carries over that setting each time the tires and wheels are called upon (every time you see the car).

I would be pretty happy with a couple rim choices and tire choices. I know the tire choices will have an impact on how the car handles as Hellmark said, I'm just not sure how or what is the best way to so. i'm thinking system that add or subtracts certain values based on the car's handling file that dictates characteristics. IE a low end cam would add more torq on top of the values in the handling file or high end came would add too the handling files top speed values etc etc.

Doing things removing the bumpers and chopping the top could affect the weight and drag values respectively.

I'm still, though I came into the scene after the rather sorry migration to 3D. I've been educating these "knucle heads" about SR3's past like when i had multiplayer options and was 2D and also had a map editor. As well others things like the magazine article about SR3 when some Australian Pc gaming magazine interviewed Jason B. the father of SR3 and the then lead programer.

I've also to talked about my ventures in to the catacombs of the lost archives, where I found the First ever Sr1 & 2 fan site and found the first references and announcements of SR3. I also found one of the very first down load pages for SR1 & 2 I took the liberty of making back up of a trainer for the first 2 which you can now download on the new website. Ven and I thought it would be cool to throw up a gallery showing the old screenshots.

MP81 aka Kyle bought a chevy cobalt and has since a done number of upgrade to it such as a super charger. Yes I'm talking about the 4cyl car. Other news my dad I have finally started working on out 70' coronet R/T. My Dad is still deciding on some heads but, other wise we have amassed some parts already and have reassembled the bottom end on the block. After sitting for so many years the grease on the then freshly assembled block hardened in to a wax like consistency.

I'm rambling and no one probably gives a crap so I'll kindly STFU and give some one else a chance to speak.

Honestly i say some of it go and some of it no. thats ton of stuff I disagree with customizable rim and tire size and buying tools. In fact Hellmark said you would be able to buy whole entire new garages but, that would be to unlock new areas.

TSJ I would suggest asking Megariffer and Giszo coding questions Veno as much as the old demo is hilarious as it is fail who knows what or why but, the coders may want to examine it learn from, my guess is what NOT to do but, who knows.

Glad to see a familiar face.

Thoughts, Steering while trying to watch the tach sucks (Hotrod American Street Drag) specially with KB but, doesn't mean it can't be done right. Burnouts are not bad as long as they are not implement like Need for speed Pro Street did. Wheel stands, traction and unique gears shifts can and probably will be done that falls on the characteristics of each car, which if done with master/multiple handling files is just matter of programming/tweaking each car.

Put simply is sreetrod combined with gear head garage and games like hotrod American street drag, whole slew of things like cylinder boring and and timing guns and possible cam shafts.

also the the time of 1972 is what its gonna be every one asks for turbos and newers cars and the answer has been always no, however if the game gets done there could be sequel or addon mod it would just be case of adding content. i've been doing research IRL about IRL street racing and turbos and VWs and Porches didn't come into the scene until a few years after where sr3 takes place even then what talking about sounds more like street rice 3 a new generation. how ever at the time street racing died mainly because of the oil embargo which sr3 takes place just before the oil embargo.

like i said an addon/mod could be made, heck we could call it StreetRod: the Last generation or even StreetRod: a new generation.

KeyBoard, what handles good on KB will handle good on a wheel or game pad, but, what struggles with KB handles better with KB and mouse. I've notice with torq out the wazooh it is hard to keep a car on the road but, with analog no contest. I've been playing and modding with gta since gta 3, it uses one master file to houses all the vehicle's handing and characteristics, it is very clever system and more than just GTA uses such a system. it allows for each car to be fleshed... artistically with it's own character so to speak.

I love playing with such characteristics had i not lost some stuff through t years changing hard drives and computers. I had some sweet handling mods, gt3 through gta iv. in gta sa i had monster truck that could climb just about any hill or angle wall but, still handle real well. in gta iv i have a "bullet" which handles like crud on KB but, flies with a game pad, and i have "blista" the handles like dream and does 2 city block long burn out and is sweet on both kb and game pad.

We already have notable better garage compared to the current/old alpha. And i know how to make it good for KB and wheel.

probably not a bad idea, we could also list the setting needed to run them correctly too.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by that? Do you mean the sudden update of the web site?

Yes indeed the old one. At the time Jason B started making SR3 in 3D they didn't really have a lot of the resources we have today. Suffice to say new software/game engine could possibly get us further than the old engine ever did.

There is also a bug with integrated Intel graphics, where the whole screen blacks out unless the mouse is in just the right place.  There is another one where cars fall through the ground and fly towards the moon. :P

More or less we still have some more work to do, and even more once the site and forums are fully operational.
