a baffle is a divider wall that helps with fuel sloshing around in the tank. with out the fuel is free to move about in the tank which is bad because when you stomp the gas and the car shoots forward the gas slams again the back of the tanks and when it does that if it's not full it dips BELOW the fuel pick up tube and the fuel pump sucks in nothing but, air for a second until the fuel levels backs out which causes sputtering and loss of power. Something similar happens in the throats of the Holley style carburetors too when where sloshes out of the breather tubes and down the in to the intakes the drowns/floods the intake with too much fuels and causes a rich condition which also robs power.

Here is a picture of the baffles i'm talking about.

Will we be allowed Wheelie Bars so our High HP Cars dont flip?  ;D ;D ;D

Will we be allowed to Adjust our Tire Pressure?
Shorter distance's focus more on traction. where longer stretches you want a higher Tyre pressure...
and Bigger wheels add more momentum /increase rolling ratio's so cars can reach higher speeds...

Thats why DRAG cars have small wheels but LARGE tyres/slicks/mickey thompsons as everything is about traction NOT about top end /exit speeds

I would think all of that would be in the game, i know tire pressure was planned.

Sorry for reviving a old post but this was not mentioned ...There was nothing mentioned in the post about this Real life issue that can happen with drag cars.

So if you are running low on fuel but you you choose to race. Your car can start Spluttering, Pinging, Hesitation,Backing fire from low fuel pressure fuel starvation, car starts running lean etc... (This Normally eats up spark plugs)

So if you decide to Race with a low tank of gas your car in theory is lighter but if the stretch of road is too long you do so at your own peril

not if you put baffles in the tank and a little vented tube on the breathers tubes in carburetor throat

Maybe? Sr3 was definetley planned to have, junkyard, dealerships, speed shops, catalogs and the newspaper. i maybe missing a few more. One that was never defintley was weather you'd be able to explore the city due the large amount work needed and huge lack of information of the cities at that time period as it was planned to be as historically correct as possible. So i always assumed this one was a maybe.

As far as i remember all the cars from the first games were planned to be in SR3. In fact the old web site before it broke had pages and pages and pages of lists of cars planned to be in the game. it looked well over 100 different years and models.

I think MArco has been very busy with work so he put his project on hold.

Marco's project is basically just exactly that but, with the DOS graphics.

if all else fails. UnReal Engine has been trying very hard to compete with Unity, if Unity is too hard to learn maybe one of the later/latest UE version could be used?

As far as I know it's just scene with some features but, i could be wrong the author could have developed more bits and pieces and or scenes.

some time GM used the same parts for different models of cars. So if someone really knew there stuff you could tell what models of cars you could dimensions from that match the vega for stuff like steering wheels and seats etc etc.

General Talk / Re: What car handling do you prefer in games?
« on: May 02, 2016, 02:53:15 pm »
Yeah it's possible to have pretty good idea of what effect it will have with out math. Physics don't really change but, the cars do.  :P It helps to have experience riding any thing wheels since the age of 4 and come from a family of mechanics and hot rodders.

How ever there books out there like "How to Make Your Car Handle: Better Handling, Safety and Performance" That explain the science and math.

This is one reason I like simcade, fairly or really close to the real thing with out needing millions of dollar or hours of program and research and development. Sometimes with all that simulation racing games aren't that much more accurate. sometimes wildly inaccurate like need for speed shift. (Grant it they market it as a simulator though it's far from)
