Now that team/devs have centralized project files it is now possible to share work again. Figured i'd share for those who may be curious.

well that's further than i had gotten. i'll have to see if their are videos on how it works. I think Pop The Hood was done in Unity.

any experience with the unity engine?

Development / Re: Luna Engine

haven't heard of luna before! i've been watching unity engine, unreal engine and GODOT so far. is there any more info community discussions on Luna?

hey fallout is good stuff, at least the first 2 were pretty good.

No more or less useful than your statement. For all you know I've been working on resources that can be put to use for the project.

Jeeze that's negative. i've found a few clever ways to cut down on some of the work needed and would solve some of the problems faced long ago. i've also been working on a few things that may help the development side without added costs.

when i first saw those games I hadn't seen they support mac. SR3 had been planned for windows linux and mac, it was tooo much longer at looking at switching a new engine that Unity 3D and UE started going to war and adding new support and features left and right.

both engines now have asset stores too.

it's only abandoned when the forums and the domain name are given up. that'll happen over my cold dead body.

not really but, in the old alpha you could make your own but, it wouldn't do much

When I first joined these forums over a decade ago, most of the game and game engine had to be designed, engineered and coded manually! Now we have libraries and game engines to empower game developers more than ever before and these tools repositories improve and grow every day.

That's not even the half of it, there were design complexities that were debated or unknown solutions for only for games of the genre to come out and offer interesting ideas on ways to figure things out. The power of the internet also now allows us information, historical documentation, photos and even videos that show and answer questions and provide direction and historical fact that can now also aid the design process as well as aid with creation of art assets and or design of said art assets.

What was once 90% a question of man power and cold hard cash has shifted more towards a matter of drive and time, as in cost not inevitability.

Even if it never comes to fruition there have already been several tech demos made, the first 2 of which were made with far far fewer softwares, tools and information available.
