In a world of "Upgrade Stage 1,Stage 2, Stage 3" I have been waiting for this game to come out for EVER lol.
How is it coming?!!?! There is no good racing games anymore :( Nitto is gone and Motor City Online is but a faint memory these days. I have a need for Tuning and Digital Speed.
Steam Workshop this and get some mod submissions already !
Please update me :P

Agreed. Can we get an update on this game? I feel that there are more people looking forward to it than there are on this page. Do we need more donations or what else can be done to get a 3rd edition of this classic game. Look forward to seeing something soon.
Thank you

No good racing games in the vain of SR1 and 2 and MCO and HotRod American Street Drag but ,there are some good ones out there. One of the Devs posted on face book that they are tinkering with Unity Game Engine again.
It is not as simple as just making stages SR3 is bigger game than most realize and a monolithic under taking, especially with plans and story line being historical correct for the period. (1972 before the oil crysis)
Being steam require jumping a number or large legal hurdles too.
As long as the forums and site are up or the the very least the domain under out control it's all good and won't go away over my cold, dead, lifeless body. ;D

Really, you still believe that this game will ever be made.

When I first joined these forums over a decade ago, most of the game and game engine had to be designed, engineered and coded manually! Now we have libraries and game engines to empower game developers more than ever before and these tools repositories improve and grow every day.
That's not even the half of it, there were design complexities that were debated or unknown solutions for only for games of the genre to come out and offer interesting ideas on ways to figure things out. The power of the internet also now allows us information, historical documentation, photos and even videos that show and answer questions and provide direction and historical fact that can now also aid the design process as well as aid with creation of art assets and or design of said art assets.
What was once 90% a question of man power and cold hard cash has shifted more towards a matter of drive and time, as in cost not inevitability.
Even if it never comes to fruition there have already been several tech demos made, the first 2 of which were made with far far fewer softwares, tools and information available.

I've been lurking here now and then to see if there's any news or progress.
Thankfully the facebook page was updated early 2017, so I really hope that little steps are still being made.
I seriously cannot wait for this game to happen, even in early forms.
-
Any updates?

I've been lurking here now and see the Testogen results (http://www.greenmuseum.org/) if there's any news or progress.

I would also give my left nut to play this game in early stages. I hope it's still on track and not abandoned.
-
it's only abandoned when the forums and the domain name are given up. that'll happen over my cold dead body.
-
And what a difference does it make? This project is long DEAD..
-
No more or less useful than your statement. For all you know I've been working on resources that can be put to use for the project.
-
At least my statement is in touch with reality. I've been reading about these SR3 projects since mayby 2001 and all of the creators were always claiming that their projects are absolutly not dead. Morover there are hundreads of unreleased classic Fallout projects and guess what their creators were always claiming? Face the reality, another SR3 is dead once again.
-
hey fallout is good stuff, at least the first 2 were pretty good.
-
Stay tuned for this fall, StreetRod 76! An open world public server game where every person in-game is a real player! It's not a bug, it's a feature! #itjustworks
-
How can i get involved? Lets get this ball rolling again.
-
any experience with the unity engine?

any experience with the unity engine?
hey Im back
and I have worked with the unity engine before
-
well that's further than i had gotten. i'll have to see if their are videos on how it works. I think Pop The Hood was done in Unity.

yes you saw the video I posted back in 2016.
I wish I could get my hands on the unity code that have already been started that resulted in pop the hood and other demos (seems to remember something about the car being able to drive in and out of the garage)
that way I might be able to continue the development from there
-
Now that team/devs have centralized project files it is now possible to share work again. Figured i'd share for those who may be curious.
-
Howdy! What a blast from the past :)
Where can I find the code?
